Dear Marvel,

Sun Jun 14, 2009, 6:44 AM
Dear Marvel,

There is a reason why its 11pm and I`m writing to a comic book company, and that is to say, `Thank you`.

Thank you for `X-Men Origins: Wolverine`.

`Marvel`lous in every sense of the word. Now I am not a comic book fan. Actually I can say without a word of a lie that I don`t own one comic book and never have.

I live in a small backwash town in Atlantic Canada (a drinking town with a fishing problem) where one school goes from primary to 12. So needless to say when it comes to picking friends, options are limited at best.

I was always told by my `friends` that cartoon and comics are for kids, and that I need to `grow up and watch more `adult` shows like `Dawson’s Creek``.(gag me with a spork) Thank god for the Simpsons being what it was or I would never have got through high school... anyhow...

It wasn`t till after I graduated that I started to read comics. Web comics, and then manga... and then I went to a store and bought a manga book! It might not sound like much for you but for me it was like taking that one step too many off the high dive. I mean most people in North America can understand a comic book, but a manga to them? (What is that? Some kinda French toast?) Having to explain what you’re looking for to a book store owner who doesn`t have one sweet clue what you’re talking about and can`t even pronounce the authors first name last name or HELL! Even the TITLE of the book can be frustrating and embarrassing all at once.

Now if you’re still reading this mindless rant by now you’re probably thinking that I`m a complete fruit loop... no just a really shelter life... it’s a really small town....

Well I don’t own a comic book, nor have I ever read ONE Marvel book in my 25 years of walking this planet, but I always watch the cartoons, and I’ve watch all the X-Men, and Spiderman, and bits and parts of the rest of them... that’s why I wanted to say Thank you.

Marvel, thank you from the bottom of my heart for keeping Wolverine Canadian. I heard a rumour that the reason Marvel had the movie "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" come out was because Marvel realized over the years that Logan was a very popular character so his whole background was changed to make him American.

Thank you for keeping him Canadian. Not just because I``m Canadian and that makes me feel oh so proud of him in the comic world, but because it actually add some diversity to your Marvel Universe in my opinion. I`ll be honest, a world where all the superheroes are all from one country (or some random planet in space) is rather dull and unoriginal.

Thank you for making one BAD ASS movie out of it!

Thank you for making Gambit just as Gambit should be, smoooooth!

Thank you for letting me see Hugh Jackman ass!

Thank you for awesome effects, good story script, bitch’n battle scenes, and awesome characters!

Thank you for not fucking it up like ‘Dragon Ball Evolution’.

And just all around, ‘thank you for making a great movie for a great character.’

A grateful fan,
JadeTiger

p.s: and thank you for not putting anyone in spandex

A message in a bottle!

I was dated march 2001 and had a mailing address with a simple little note that read, "Please write back!"

I'm here in Nova Scotia CANADA!

Now how cool is that?
